Idrive black

Hi!

I have a 2015 bmw x1 28i with idrive,

Idrive went blank a while ago, came back for a week then died for 3 months.

Bought a used unit and still no screen or sound (even door chimes),

I believe it would be a coincidence that both are dead, what could possibly be wrong?
Note that the screen activates as it dimes, i can see the screen waking up but nothing shows

Wouldn't the unit still power up? As well as the sound, door chimes etc

Is the program not only for nav? I mean i get no signal whatsoever (sound, video etc)
