Car Cover?

Hi everyone,

I am looking for some advice. I always keep my cars in a "better than new" condition but am getting a wee bit tired of having to clean them everytime a bird craps on them or after a storm etc. I keep them in my drive but unfortunately its not really possible to build a carport or awning where they stand due to the layout of the house. I do have a garage but its too small as its built for a Morris Minor (really).

Now I have been looking at car covers recently but there seems to be some debate as to whether they can scratch the paintwork. I have also looked into the touchless ones like carcoon etc but am still not convinced.

Probably the most important things are that whatever I go for it must:

Not scratch the paintwork

Be storm proof. We regularly get 50mph winds at the house, max I have measured is 76mph.

Can be semi permanent or anchored if need be

Any Ideas?

I think that the cons are:
Cost, chance of cover rubbing away in one spot, pain in removing it and re-installing it, can't take it with you when you park elsewhere, plus the fact that the car will always need to be washed anyway.

Sorta tips the scale to th side of not being worth the bother. IMHO

I agree, just wondering if anyone out there has any bright ideas.

I even looked into something like this, http://www.totalliftingsolutions.co....t-35-with-roof

But they cost as much as my X1!
