2014 no idrive USB and AUX question
Hi, does anyone have the famous Y cable used to hear control your music? If so, can you please post a part number and if possible a picture? I purchased the one from BMW but it does not work, it will only charge my ipod. Thanks

The USB is for charging. The AUX is to play the music. I am frustrated that the cable that came with my 2014 X1 was for an iPhone 4/4S. I had to buy an adapter to make the BMW adapter work. For that matter, I'm disappointed that Bluetooth doesn't play our music. My $25K VW Sportwagen did that, then I buy a $37K X1 and it requires a "technology package". Sheesh...

I regularly use a USB flash drive in my non-iDrive base radio. Works pretty well, though the menus are less than intuitive. I usually just leave it in "random" and if I'm not in the mood for the song that pops up, just advance to the next using the button on the steering wheel. Sound quality is better than FM (even HD) radio.
