Jb4 tune on my 14 x1 with the n20 engine

Just looking for some input on the jb4 tunes. I’ve had mine for about 15k miles and haven’t had any issues. After some research, I have gotten some conflicting answers on whether the jb4 is a quality tune. I am aware that a flash tune would be the better option, but my x1 isn’t able to be flashed. If anyone has had experience using a jb4 or has done extensive research on them, could I get some information on the quality?

I believe the consensus is that for tuning the N20 X1's, the JB4 is the best off-the-shelf tuner. Dinan had a tune out for the E-chassis N20, but is no longer available. MHD and bootMod also aren't available for our 4 cylinder E84s.

Any kind of tune will be pushing the N20 towards the material limits of the engine. Metal charge pipes, an intercooler, a downpipe, and the tune will run a user at least $1500 to make 350WHP. Any more power requires forged internals, and that just isn't cost effective.

On the other hand, going to Map 2 and running 20 PSI can be a lot of fun. A 3500 lb car with 300 HP and AWD is probably faster than most people have ever experienced.

Don't have the car anymore, but I ran the JB4 on my X1 for about 3 years with absolutely no issues.

This included daily driving and multiple track days.
