X1 AC EVAP Core Leak

I have 2014 X1 with little over 100K miles. Dealer told me that my AC Evap Core is leaking. Anyone has the experience with this issue?

My AC works fine and I could not smell any different. I contacted other dealers and they all have different opinion on replacing the AC EVAP Core. Really appreciated if anyone has any feedback on this.

First I do not think this is a common issue. Second, if your evap core is really leaking and you are loosing refrigerant from the AC system, your AC would not work.

The electronic leak detectors are pretty good in the right hands, I assume what they are saying (if honest) is that they have detected refrigerant in your HVAC air inside the car. In your shoes I would like to see what the gauges say for your refrigerant charge, that will let you know how close you are to being low. The detectors can detect REALLY small leaks, so you could have working AC for literally years with a tiny leak.

In any case you have a pretty good detector built in - when the air stops being really cold you will know they were right. Not much risk in waiting your low pressure switch will turn the compressor off in the end.
