X1 suspension shared with E91 Chassis?

I've read that the E91 and X1 are about the same underneath, and it seems that the RWD X1 can fit the E9x rwd KW coilovers.

Does anyone know if I can run the E90 XI coilovers on an X1 with xDrive?

You can but not without modification, the front spindles on the X1 are different due to a larger diameter strut.

A quick parts comparison between the X1 35i and the E91 335xi, shows much similarity in areas like the front axle carrier, but most of the suspension parts have different part numbers.

Ah ok, thank you!

I take it your car is an sDrive since you're using E90 coilovers?

KW europe has a v1 and v3 kit for the AWD X1 already, so hopefully they start bringing it here to the US.

Oh awesome! Do you have any reccomendation on how I can make it fit properly? I'm thinking I can get a much better deal on a set of 335xi KW's vs getting the X1 version from europe.

You need adapters for the front struts going into the spindles which i designed and had machined for me. I also used e90 Xi spring pads, perches and guide supports to leave my x1 suspension intact.
