Silver Kidney Grill?

I was looking thru some old pictures, getting ideas for how I wanted my new baby to look.

I stumble upon this picture of an X1 with silver kidney grills.

I've never really seen this in the wild. Where was this available?
Has anyone seen it? are the fins shiny Chrome or more of a matte silver?

What are your general thoughts on the look?

Looks great to me, but I generally love the X1 design in all it's iterations. I've never seen a silver grill in the wild either..

Nevermind the silver grille. Check out the alcantara/suede sport seats and manual shifter!!!
