Just installed JB4 and it doesnt work

I just installed the JB4 on my 28i X1 PWG, ive made sure all the connections are clean and everything, there arent any codes that have popped up, and yet I cant use steering wheel controls? Startups are fine, but I dont even know if the JB4 is being recognized by the ECU.

Which method are you using to try and enter the steering wheel controls?

For the X1 N20 you need to press the two down buttons (- and down arrow), not the BC button like on some other model vehicles.

You're only showing the two canbus wires, you've got the power wire shoved in with the big fuse in the ComBox... right?

Mine didn't come with the red fuse wire.. I recently purchased this so i think the updated versions dont have the fuse connection.

Also, how did u place your jb4? Im kind of confused on if u close the ECU box, where the giant sensor wires go

I'd have to pull the cowl off to look more closely, but I'm pretty sure I just found a spot where the rubber seal would let the cable run with the cover fitting.

One comment is on your 4th photo, run the cable under the diagonal cross-support instead of over it. Otherwise the cowl is going to crush it.

As for the placement, I just kind of wedged it in there.

They are not always the fastest, but if you need additional support I would post here:

Do you have either the data cable or the bluetooth adapter to be able to try communicating someway other than the steering wheel controls?

Did you buy it directly from Burger or through another party?

Just thinking at this point you may want to send them an email to see if they have any obvious things to look at.

All your connections look good as far as I can see.

Did you put the caps back on the two wires? It really shouldn't matter, but just thinking it might help the connection if you haven't yet.

Did you remove the negative battery lead when doing the install?

I figured I'd ask, as that was the only other thing that I could really think of.

It costs a little more, but I went the bluetooth route. It's much more convenient.

I honestly don't recall. I would have to take the cowl off and look to be sure.

Have you heard anything back from Burger yet?

I know I am coming in late but I would have double checked your power and ground. Aside from that you should have the USB cable as a minimum. You should log if you're running the JB4 so you will either need to get a USB to OTG adapter or go with their Bluetooth option.

Someone else asked how the cables are ran into the DME enclosure. There is no ideal way but BMS said to put it on top (the flat part) and press the lid on to smash the cables.
