Exit 18" Welcome 17" ...Winter is coming
Hi guys, just finished to "wax" the car after the tire swap ...
Unfortunately the evening is well advanced so I can't show you the result but here are some pics of my X1 after the tire swap. The 17" fits really well if you ask me ... What's your opinion ? |

hey Loukas, your wheels looks good~
But have you check the steel rim too from the dealer? The hub cap looks not as bad, probably the steel rim would be a better choice for use in our quebec salty road... |

I'm taking the risk my friend. I have treated all 4 wheels with "Armor All" Wheels protector ( Canadian Tire ). Just did the same to my 18" and the result is great. No more brake's dust and other stuf on the wheels.
I ran my old car 3 winters on "black wheels" and then found 4 oem 16" original Wheels to replace the first set and finally like the look of my car during winter time. I didn't wanted to do the same mistake again. 500 $ was the difference between the steel wheel and the 17" aluminium that I finally choose. I'm aware of our winter condition tough and really hope the wheel protector will help me keep all 4 wheels in good condition ... Will let you know about that in a couple of months. True that the steel set with hub caps are correct but nothing will look better than some aluminium wheels. At least for my taste. |

I have those wheels on my X1...
I am a sucker for big wheels, but after having an E Class for 18 months I decided to go back to comfort and the 17's are the only ones that don't come with run flats, so I got the dealer to swap the 18s on this for the 17's that he had on another car. |

Great looking on a Black X1. Good choice. I have runflat on mine. Decided to go with those type of tires for my first winter set as well as my 18" OEM.
Don't know if I will stay on runflat when time will come to swap the tires ... We'll see. If i'm lucky, in a couple of years ( 4-5 ??) I don't put a lot of KMs during winter time, so they should stay in good shape for at least 4 winter ... Hope so. Again, they look really good on your car too |
