Exclamation Dicky RPM

Greetings everyone.
Got a bit of a weird one here, 2011 X1 E84 sDrive 20d with N47 and auto (ZF).
Complaint is RPM fluctuations of ≈ 100rpm whilst on cruise control or consistent throttle/road speed, generally above 60km/h.
No other symptoms, no fault codes. Surging not generally felt. Idle is stable. Vehicle is well maintained and economy seems largely unaffected and is still excellent. No issues with acceleration or any other trans concerns. Trans recently serviced (issue was prevalent prior to).
This one really got me scratching my head .
230xxx kms. Ideas appreciated.

As soon as I saw Dicky in the title i thought, must be a fellow Aussie and no one else will have a clue what he's on about.

As a non-Aussie, I throw the full weight of my support behind your assessment.

My mind always goes to a misfire but only because I experienced that earlier in the year when I somehow had a bad plug (even though I had just put all mew plugs and coils in). In my case it was around the same speed but noticed on acceleration. However, if I maintained speed once the fluctuating started, I would eventually throw codes and enjoy cyclinder deactivation. The fluctuating I saw was maybe 200-300rpm.

Hi.
It's 100 percent a gearbox converter.
I had the same thing and only replacement helped.
