Last E46 M3, i pulled the CSL boot (authentic), Ground Control Coil overs, 3 section exhaust, cold air intake, CLS rep wheels and a few other cosmetic items off and sold them. By buying some of that stuff second hand, taking good care of it and cleaning everything up well before selling, i actually made $1700 on the parts i sold.

Results may vary.

It's an easy solution for those enthusiasts who don't want to throw down 80 hours of research on the best exhaust for the dollar as well as those enthusiasts who don't want to just blindly trust their internet forum buddies' research. But BMW isn't out to do anyone any favors, they're here to make money and aftermarket exhausts have gotten so ridiculously expensive, they see opportunity to make more money.

I think they are basically remarketing an Akrapovic setup. Not sure if it is the same as one you can get with Akrapovic branding or not, but this one worked out well for me. Had the car in anyway, so saved on some labor and hit a "promotion".

You're absolutely right! I couldn't agree more. The quality seems relatively high, but of course there are companies like Akra, RPI, and Innotech who make absolutely beautiful pieces of art, which are similarly priced (or cheaper...not Innotech though ).

I just threw everything out and had something made from scratch, but I can appreciate the quality of a great manufacturer in the aftermarket.

I don't doubt that it'll sound good or that it's a quality performance part.

I'm just bitching about the over all excessive price of aftermarket exhaust systems. The proof of excessive pricing is that BMW is gaining some of that market share.

I still love you, even though you're not getting the Major Penis Enlargement.

Anytime I mod a car, I always keep the OEM parts I pull off. I'm not giving the parts away to the next owner. And you'll really lose your ass on them if you sell them with the car. People like to play the "If you mod a car, it's actually worth less" game. The right way to play the game is mod the car, enjoy it, put it back to stock and sell it.

Side note, I'm about to pull the trigger on a CSL boot and diffuser from Status Gruppe. My buddy and I are authorized retailers. Thinking about the one piece lip too. Can't decide.

Get it all.

Unfortunately some people, like me, don't have space to keep OEM parts.

I usually break the OEM parts and THEN upgrade..., that's how it works right?

When you've got enough money in mods to purchase another E46 M3, you'll find room to keep the spare parts. Lol

Dude it'll be functional. Aren't they really for downforce, or something? I think I read that somewhere.

I don't know if a lip held on my 3M tape would be very good for downforce.
