Clown Nose Blinking When Locked?
AFAIK, my new X1 does not have an alarm system installed, yet the clown nose blinks when the car is locked. On previous BMWs (135i, 335d) this did not occur. My understanding was the clown nose was activated only with the installation of a dealer installed BMW alarm system. Oh well, looks cool at night ;-)

No, the "clown nose" is a located on the underside of the rearview mirror and roughly the diameter of a quarter.

I didn't coin that phrase, it's been in use for some time. Very descriptive though.
