Just trust the Guidance voice

is what I was told when expressing my unhappiness with the fact the Navigation system in my x1 with the Ultimate package does not have a route preview option so that I can review in advance the different roads that it is going to take me on. Does anyone know if this feature may possibly be added at a later point in time with some sort of software update? I wrote BMW and they directed me to Tom Tom support whom sent me back to BMW with no answers. Thanks!

If your referring to part of the screen that will show you a virtual road and where to turn or turn off, it is there. I don't use the Nav very much but when I did use it a few weeks ago I stumbled upon this feature using the split screen view. This was on 278 in NJ, not sure if it shows the same when on regular streets.

Hope it helps

I think this option exists....salesperson was showing me some of the different features/controls and I swear there was something like this. Maybe I should have paid better attention. I don't read instruction manuals and like to figure things out for myself so I wasn't paying too much attention to him.

It is there, you can see the fastest route, most economical, and shortest.

Yeah, the nav informs you of the route, just have to scroll down the options to view the route it's chosen.

This BMW video demonstrates that:

That link seems to be troublesome. Instead, just go to the X1 owner manual videos and select "Navigation Part 3":

Routeof travel Information Finally Found

Thank you to all who have tried to assist me. These forums are so needed and so helpful . We have a good sharing community out there. Unfortunately, BMW was of no help to me and told me the feature did not exist.

I am a bit tech challenged to a degree but have found that if you play enough and try different things , most of the time you find it. I am now able to view a list of roads that the Navigation has planned for me BEFORE I start driving. Want to know how?
After you have put in your destination and started the guidance
Just press the talk button and shout, ROUTE INFORMATION and up comes the list of the roads that it has selected to take you on..
