Golf Tee Mod for X1
I know this was discussed in the Mods thread but I think it deserves its own thread. Has anyone done this mod to their X1, or a previous Bimmer?
What models can it be done on? I know there are a few ways out there of doing it, plugging the line or pulling the actuator plug for the exhaust. If anyone can provide as much info as possible relevant to the X1s especially that would be great for everyone. Thanks! |

Yes, the benefit is sound. The flap automatically opens at a certain RPM under throttle to make the car sound better - it comes this way from the BMW factory. All the golf T mod does is allow you to enjoy the sound all the time. It does not hurt anything in the car whatsoever and is 100% reversible. It doesn't even throw a code if you do the JB4 version.

Easiest way to do it is the stick a BB into the hose and then re-attach the hose. I haven't done it on my X1 but I did it on my 335i and the sound diff at idle/low RPM was quite pleasing.
The mod simply makes it deeper and ever so slightly louder...not to the point of being annoying though...inside OR outside the vehicle |
