Can you code better use of Siri for navigation?
I bought my X1 without Nav. If I hit the button on my iPhone I can talk to Siri through the car speakers to call someone or text someone. When I ask Siri to find a place and say I want directions, once she starts the navigation process, the voice ends through the speakers - it continues on the phone only. Can I code it so Siri will provide the directions through the car speakers? I'm going to either purchase the tools for coding - or take it someplace to have the door unlocking process improved, so I am trying to figure out all of what can be done. It would really be cool to be able to code more enhanced use of Siri for navigation purposes - if it can be done?

I've noticed that if you have music playing through bluetooth from the iphone then any interruptions of siri or other notification sounds will continue to play through bluetooth. So my suggestion is that when you are navigating, play bluetooth music at the same time. Then when siri interrupts with directions, it will play through the speakers and the car won't know the music ever paused.

Shredjim, I have a similar problem in my wife's Volvo. If you use the turn by turn directions in Google maps it will announce the directions thru the speakers in the car. I think the issue is with apple maps, not your vehicle.

Outstanding TrueRed - thanks! I just tried it out and it works. I found that I need to hit the button on my iPhone to activate Siri first, then the google maps turn by turn directions start playing through the speakers. This is good because twice recently Apple maps gave me incorrect directions data. Great Solution
