Quick road trip last couple of days, 500 miles, and no issues so far. Took it to 120 but started running out of road and eased off. Really wanted to find that limiter.

Yeah for some real validity for all of us to see would need to re-dyno same place and take back to the 1/4 track for additional runs. Both of which I have stock data.

Good news is if all continues to work fine then for N55 X1 owners it only requires two of the four plugs which means it can be taken in and out with minimal intrusion. Minor practice, 10 minutes.

hehe it wasn't a race to see how fast the car could reach the limiter, it was to simply confirm where it was at. I liked his comment "It seem to go to 130 and it just wouldn't allow it to go any faster"

(was pretty cool sitting beside the car when it was running that "fast")

The reason for the dyno visit again was to see how it looked with the uhhhh "octane booster" added. Unfortunately I consider it inconclusive because it didn't produce clean runs. I need to run it on a different dyno across town and compare them. Not really for HP/TQ numbers, but to see if the curve returns to being more linear.

(Dotted line is the original baseline run)




The two dynos are both Mustang AWDs and they are real close in numbers when I've compared in the past. If I re-run it on the other dyno and it's still showing that kind of curve then it's probably that "octane booster" doing it. If it comes out pretty normal then that was just a funky set of runs.

Those are both new/old TQ numbers.

Both times the dyno measured 270HP, but TQ went up. Now obviously there's points where we can see it's making more power than stock, but also there's points it dips back down below stock as well. Too funky to see where the vehicle is really at.


Ok, and now lets add a stranger chapter into the X1 tuning game. This morning I get an e-mail from a local tuning place that's an authorized Dinan shop and he says they got a memo this morning from Dinan saying they have a flash for the X1 ? Two week ago I have an e-mail from them saying they're not working on it ? Will call later this morning and get a straight scoop.

Edit - Ohh it may be true, just saw the memo.

"I just wanted you to know that we just updated all the 3.5 cars. Our software will now work for all of them , but I wanted you to know now in case you have some customer come in during the weekend.

X1’s and x5’s with a 3.5 are all good to go as well
."


Anyone want to guess a price ? (I say 1500.00)

The chart shows the vehicle in a stock configuration with the dotted lines, solid line is the recent boosted runs. It does appear the AWD is pretty efficient though even within other BMW models.

Confirmed on the Dinan tune for the X1 35i. It's their Stage 2 N55 software. But official release, and earliest you can get it is Monday.

Returned to stock yesterday morning. Appointment in 40 min for Dinan flash. Keep fingers crossed it works and no issues on X1.
