Sensatek upholstery = sweat a bunch
Sorry I purchased the leatherette "sencatek upholstery" should be wet butt and back after 10 minutes in car. I've had numerous BMW vinyl seats that look like current without the sweat. What gives. I'd gladly now pay the $1450 for leather. Q

I'd much prefer cloth seats over dead animal or synthetic dead animal, but that's not an option here. Having said that, I haven't had much problem with my quality European pleather. Maybe try a neoprene seat cover or something.

The one day I had a loaner, I found that the leatherette was the worst material I've ever sat on. You're right, It makes you sweat really fast. Mostly because it doesn't breathe like natural fibers

Since I've only had my car since December, I can't comment on how it is in the hot weather. But so far I really like the leatherette as it seems very durable, looks like leather, and most people think it's leather.

I had a company car (F2x 116d) with sensatec. Thank god for that, I was nice to have leather in my leasing budget.
Leasing car should be good for maximum 4 years, only droved it for a year but the black sensatec leather was like new. I think it is just fine (in a F2x anyway, lol. ) |

I have leather as part of ultimate package but I wouldn't mind sensatech and saving $1450 if I had that option. I doubt highly processed and probably coated nevada leather breathes much better than sensatech.

Interesting! We live in a hot and humid coastal part of Mexico and do not find the Sensatec leatherette sweaty or uncomfortable at all. As a plus, Sensatec is easy to clean as we have a large dog that rides in the car once in a while.

Leather or fancy vinyl matters not. In the summer, even with A/C on, I'll sweat on my back. I am a cold weather person.

I've had both, at different times. There's pros and cons.
The sensatek/leatherette didn't make me sweaty unless it was a crazy hot day, but the leather is certainly more breathable. The leatherette requires zero maintenance and will look like new years later; the leather will have sags and creases over time and obviously needs to be maintained. There's no right answer, as it's obviously a matter of preference. Personally I find the leather more comfortable and I prefer it, despite its drawbacks. But it's not like I was unhappy with my previous car that had leatherette. |
