i had a very slight rub and just took the drimal tool and sanded the inside edge of the white trim piece. when i first lowered it no problems at all but when i added the 15mm spacers all around had a little rub on inside edge of white trim. now remember iam also at 1.6 deg camber

had my bmw mechanic friend re-due the toe and caster and balance to make the steering not so heavy and to make the rear loser so it will come around when pushed hard so i can drift it out of a turn in a controlled manor like the m3 i had. IT WORKED!!! came out of the parking lot today a left turn on to the hwy, pedal to the metal 1st to 2nd cranked the wheel right then left bam front end is biting real good, before it would just push and now the back end is starting to come around i cant believe it iam so excited its working keeping the power down lightly feathering it, the rear is about 4 to 5 a clock i can hear the rear wheels spinning when it finally hooked it slamed me back in my seat and launched.... wow i wanted it to do this just didn't think it could be done iam blown away.

I CAN POST ALL MY SPECS CAMBER TOE CASTER AND SO FORTH IF NEEDED

I can not understand why lowering an SUV?

However, everything else in this car is perfect.

^ When your goal is not to conquer the mountains, but to have on road better driving dynamics, why not lower it ? For sure it's more fun to drive now

Mate, that looks really good. Definitely doesn't look like an SUV now but more like a 3-series Touring now that it's lowered.

let me grap the paper and post the numbers. the wear is perfect across the tire and since its counter balanced there isn't to much weight on any one tire.

I'm a noob when it comes to alignment and suspension setups. What is counter balance? From what you described seems to be an ideal street setup. Fun yet doesn't kill the tires.

after 6 alignments we got it all most perfect iam lowered about 4 inchs with kw v1 and after lowering the x1 the camber was at -2.6 all around and toe up front was -.50 and -.45 rear toe. very very bad all around.

now very proud to say after adding camber and toe bolts to rear and removing the pin in front coilovers we were able to get--
front camber -1.6, caster is 7.1 and front toe is .13 steer ahead is dead 00
rear camber -1.8, rear toe is .16 thrust angle is 00
the x1 is counter balanced so all weight on tires are close to the same weight and balance is 51/49 favoring the front. all so the x1 is 1 inch higher in the rear than front a slight rake i may take it out.

Thank you very much! Didn't realize lowering her is going to cause quite the work. Is one able to take it to an alignment place with those numbers and have it done or does it need to settle in and keep going back step by step.

Also, outside of your kw's, what else did you need to make these specs possible?

Thank you very much! Such a great help taking the guess work out.

yes once every things is close in spec put a thousand miles on the car then do finale adjustments.
for the drop i added kw v1 also rear camber and toe bolts from k-mac and make sure you say its for a m sport or not. the camber bolts are larger in the m sport x1 i didnt know this when i ordered the parts. That proves that bmw didnt just add a body kit to the bmw x1 m sport yea

Pics and ideas make me want to mod my X135i Msport, which I just acquired yesterday. I've been very active on bimmerforums and e46fanatics for years, and bought the X1 to take my wife and I to places where my slammed and stanced e46 Touring shouldn't go.

I'm about 20 hrs into new ownership, still getting used to the size/perspective/driving position. Midrange torque is fantastic, along with very crisp performance of the ZF6s.

Welcome!

Post up some pics!

It didn't take me long to start modding my 2013 35i. I'd say I enjoyed it stock for about a week until I began thinking about mods. Lol

I'm very impressed with what you have done on this X1. If I remember correctly, removing the pin on the front struts actually increases the negative camber, no? I'm surprised your camber is where it's at for lowering the car that much. I'm thinking about a daily driver and setting it up like yours except Lemans Blue/Coral.

if you drop it as much as i did you can remove the pins and push out word. when droped on kw v1 i was at 2.6 camber in front too much for street driving good on a track. so if you remove the pin you can push over and get to a more street friendly 1.6 - 1.8 camber.
