X1 vs ?????

To the forum members who have brought an X1.

What did you consider besides the BMW?

My wife currently drives a Volvo XC 60 FWD.

We are interested in

X3 4 cylinder
X1 4 cylinder
Mazda CX 5

You have to remember that in Canada the X3 was a 6 not a 4 so the choice was quite different up until April 1. The X1 for the US is designed to compete with the upcoming Q3, upcoming Mercedes small SUV, Evogue from Land Rover and upcoming small Porsche. Mazda does not compete with BMW. Price point wise it will be way above Mazda, Toyota, Honda and VW. Base price will probably be about $34,500 so it will quickly go to $40-43k with some of the major options like premium package, cold weather or sport package.

A fully loaded Tiguan 125TSI vs 20d sDrive (not fully loaded of course). Both auto.

X1 won that battle...

Not in the US but:

-BMW 3 series estate
- Kia Sportsge

The KIA was well priced, well spec'd and very newly won.

Heart over-ruled head - I wanted a BMW, so X1 won as liked it more then the 3-series estate.
