Not sure how it is in the States, but here we have government Do Not Call lists that you can sign up for making it illegal for them to just keep calling like this. Same for emails - all you have to do is tell them you no longer wish to receive emails and by law they have no right to send any anymore.

The DNCL does not apply if there is an existing relationship, which basically means any interaction at all. Research firms are also exempt, though not relevant here.

They do not respect or honor the DNCL here. E-mails probably I can weed out easily as I created one specifically for car shopping.

Yeah emails are easy as you can just create a rule for their email address.

I'm guessing you've tried to tell whoever calls you not to call again?
Simply yelling at the operator to remove me from the list usually works. Pressing "0" if it's an automated call usually works too.

Anyways, just some thoughts, hope you can get them to stop :-)

At the moment, I'm playing a game of 'talk to hand'.

I'm back with a dilemma. So while going back and forth with one of the dealers. My wife found a Jet Black sports line with red stitches, same pkgs as the Alpine White one with problems we are having problems with:

Both are CPO 2013.

#1: CPO '13, Alpine White, blk interior, 22kmls, ultimate pkg, premium, xline, tech, cold weather, halogen bulbs, price at $31k including all fees n taxes, and it was sold on 9/2/2012

#2: CPO '13, Jet black, blk interior, 29kmi, ultimate, premium, sport, tech, halogen bulb, cold weather, price at 31k including all fees, and it was sold on 11/15/12

The dilemma is my wife and i both prefer the #2 due to the Sports seats and the stitches. However, it has 3 more months less on the factory warranty, plus 8kmi more.

Anyone have ideas how to break out of this impasse? the logical choice will be the Alpine White but the seats on that are standard Nevada and I thnk the Sports seats are Sensatec despite being more comfortable with better lumbar, ribs, and knee support.

Actually from the dates you list #2 would have 2 more months of warranty than #1. I'm also thinking that with the ultimate/premium packages the seats have to be leather.

Personally if you can live with black I would go with #2. The one thing I wish I had in mine is the sport seats.

I goofed up. #2 was sold 11/12/12 and #1 was sold 1/30/13. The difference is roughly 3 mos. By the look of things, #1 has 14 months of factory warranty while #2 has 11 months,

Just wondering whether the sports seats are worth sacrificing roughly 3 months of factory warranty for. Maybe the better option is to look for a '14 instead.

Don't forget that the three months warranty you're talking about is actually the maintenance program. The CPO extends that warranty out an extra two years. And at that point the couple months won't matter.

That said, I think option #1 is better. But this is because I don't prioritize the seats that highly (IMO they're both excellent) as opposed to the color of the car.

They're both excellent choices. And whether you go '13 or '14 won't make a huge deal so make sure the extra money you'll be paying for the slightly newer car will actually make sense in the long run.

Maybe people don't trust you because you accidentally called it a twin turbo?

I'd also pull the JB4 off and not mention it in the ad. People would rather buy a stock car. You can sell the JB4 in a couple hours on any 1/3/5 forum.

But seriously, seems like a fair price. We have the exact same car and love it.

While they're neat little cars, the market for N55s is simply going to be smaller, and then there's the fact that you're in KY. Hopefully you've listed it on craigslist, autotrader, etc. This place is deader than disco.

twin scoll, my bad lol. Louisville is a great city haha. Southwest flies here cheap and we are the #2 city in the nation for restaurants lol. I may pull the JB4 off. Good to know.

As was mentioned, with the CPO warranty going an additional 2 years those 3 months are insignificant.

Given the relatively small differences in miles, age and price I would simply go with the one you guys like better.

Thanks. So You're saying the cpo warranty covers maintenance as well? I checked bmw website and it doesn't list what's / not covered. I was under the impression that the cpo only covers transmission and certain specific items.

The CPO, just like the warranty, covers defects. The maintenance period is not extended but I don't you'll get do much as an extra oil change in those three months since even the oil is changed annually.

Hope that clarifies

I haven't used it yet, but from what I can see the maintenance portion is a joke.

Given where I have to drive to and the value of my time I think it would cost me more to get my free oil change than to pay to have my local shop do it.

You're right. It's quite the joke of the century. I contacted the dealer to provide me with the coverage document for the cpo. It's worth looking at for anyone (attached below). Even worse, there's even a $50 deductible per visit. Sure it's only $50 but why bother selling 2 yr coverage with all the caveats?

My wife is pretty mad at the moment after reading this cpo warranty documents.

A few things were a little surprising (like the coolant hoses) but otherwise it seems pretty good. The main things that I'm worried about are covered (engine failures, transmission, etc).

The $50 deductible is a pain though, but not unexpected for BMW IMO.

I suppose you're right. It still amazes me the misuse of CPO when all you're really getting is a "glorified" or watered down factory warranty. Most car shoppers don't even use a magnifying lens into this "cpo warranty" until after it's too late.

I am glad I asked so I'm not surprised after the fact.

So did you and yours make up your minds about which car you're going for?

We will most likely pick up vehicle #1 soon. Mrs is waiting on an employment counter offer. One of the CA asshat from vehicle #2 pushed for a deposit midweek and we refused. After almost 10 mins, he hung up on me. They lost a sale after that. Although his boss emailed today asking how his team was doing? I decided to not waste my time replying the arrogant pricks.

We test drove another '13 cpo Sport xdrive 28i today nearby (Silver w/Coral red) to get a better feel of the seats. We liked the seats better however we'll go with #1 despite not having sports seats. It has lesser miles and 3 more months of factory warranty in addition to the glorified cpo warranty. Overall the CA from #1 is more calm and less pushy.

We're not a fan of the red interior plus it has almost 35kmi and the asking price is $32k before fees and taxea.
