Eco Pro in xDrive 35i lacking functionality

I have a 2014 xDrive 35i. I have read a lot about the eco pro functionality, but for some reason some features don't seem functional in my car. From the manual:
"ECO PRO displays the efficiency of the current driving style in the instrument cluster.

- ECO PRO not highlighted: efficient driving style.

- ECO PRO highlighted: adjust your driving style, for example by accelerating less quickly."

This isn't happening. Eco Pro mode is always highlighted in the instrument cluster

"ECO PRO tip

Situation-related tips that indicate measures to achieve optimum fuel economy can be displayed. A reminder is displayed when the ECO PRO speed of 80 mph/130 km/h is exceeded.

Displaying the ECO PRO tip

1. "Vehicle Info"

2. "ECO PRO Tips""

When I turn on eco pro, the screen goes to the eco pro screen and highlights a selection for eco pro tips, but I can't select anything and no tips ever appear. Are these functions not be supported for the 6-cylinder engine? I can tell the eco mode is working because the throttle shuts down. Also, there is no eco pro option when choosing route preference in the nav system.

ECO PRO mostly runs up coolant temps 10+ deg f to get that better mpg.

You didn't buy the fun engine for that anyway.

Just drive easy for the MPG; nobody needs their car to run hotter for minuscule "savings".

It does look like someone was halfway done and just said F-this.

Very true Njerts. Eco Pro is wasted in the 6 cyl (higher water temp and I read before it cuts AC to the rear passengers), but again we didn't buy the fun engine for MPG. 20-27 MPG City-Hwy is good to me for the power I get out of this car. Some highly tuned 4 cyl's don't get any better, and some get worse - No thanks.

I hear all of you on that and will probably stop using eco mode. I'm just curious about why the manual claims these things work if they don't, or if it something with my car in particular.

I suspect the 28i will disengage the torque converter for coasting among other differences stemming from its newer 8hp transmission whereas the 35i had the old 6hp
