The first official BMW X1 "teaser" photos have hit the web

Here are the first official shots of the new X1 straight from BMW. I have to believe the full set of official gallery shots will be released very soon along with the technical details behind this car.

Yeah, the square light thing is kinda interesting. I'm not sure if I like it yet. Gotta see the whole car first! Also, the rear lights look like a combination of 5 and 7 series. Hmmmm....

looks good.

Anyone know how much "approximately" its going to be? I am assuming it will cost a few K below X3?

Yea i've been noticing this aswell, almost all new BMW's are adapting a same kind of taillights ... which is a shame imo cause i liked the diversification. The new ones fit the 7 like a charm, but the old ones on 5er and 3er were better for them imho. But this is however part of a cost cutting plan, bet it's cheaper to make a lot of the same components

I see Audi doing the same thing, all their models are slowly morphing into one and the same model

About the engine .. hm i guess it'll start out with a 1.8 or 2.0d moving up to the 3.0d and comparable petrol variants or so.

I wish they would release it in the U.S. soon. My wife's X3 lease is up in Jan and I would like to get this but I've read it wont be here until 2012. That's crazy. I might have to go Audi for the first time. The new Q5 is sweet.

The new X3 (which will probably be similar to the X1) isn't too far away either, but certainly not close enough for your lease end. Maybe you can get BMW to extend it for you if it's just a couple of months.

I would guess the X1 will have a starting price around $33,000 for the ~230hp version. That's $3500 more than the current 128i and about $6500 less than the current X3 with 260hp.

Most X1's with typical equipment should go out-the-door closer to $37,000.

You could probably max one out near $43,000 I imagine with EVERY available option.

Either way, this X1 will not be a car for kids straight out of college. At least, I couldn't afford a $37,000 car when I graduated.

However, I can see some rich Mom's and Dad's endowing their spoiled kids with X1s, regardless of the price.

seriously doubt it, the x3/x5 didn't get the n54 so the x1 will probably max out at the 2.5 or 3.0si.

x6 is the only x with turbos (other than x5m).

Thats a concept car, it even says it in the title of the image you posted. Concept cars usually get toned down to production version if they are made. We want to know what the production version looks like. And just see a version that isnt bile-colored..

I was deciding between the X3 and the Q5 and choose the Q5 too!! It's actually really awesome (compared to the X3) and has great features.

I know it's a concept car, but with recent concepts the only production changes are besides paint, wheels, mirrors. ??
