BMW "office"
My wife's 2011 328 Cab has a function called "office" where she can see her texts and emails on the car screen (not that I condone responding while driving) but it is a handy feature. Anyone know if this option can be added to the X1? It wasn't offered to me.

I have this though I never asked for it. So not sure if this comes standard. However I opted for "convenience telephony with extended smartphone connectivity" so not sure if this is required. but then again it was made standard from 2014 in Aus. iPhone 4 didn't support this when I tried. I use HTC M8 and it works through Bluetooth fine.

I have the Office feature, and I am a connected drive member, but in order for this to work, you have to have the app on your phone open. seems a little silly, clunky. I don't get texts on my screen although I would like to.

My wife is not a Connected Drive member yet she has this functionality.
I called the dealer and was told that "Office" was simply not available for the X1 (at least in Canada). |

Hi, I'm new to the forum - we just upgraded to the X1 from an Impreza and absolutely love the car!
I have a 2013 X1 28i and I am able to see my text messages and contacts (though not emails) using a Nexus 5 (Android). Not sure if this would be the same for iPhone though. FWIW I do have the ConnectedDrive menu in iDrive but I am not registered or logged in or anything like that. You might be able to have that feature coded but I haven't looked into coding yet so its just a thought. |

I have Office on my 2011 UK X1. Guess it's related to extended bluetooth option? - i have the standard non widescreen Business Nav with idrive. Doesn't even have the usb media option [gutted about].
Connected apps doesn't work [or i haven't paid for it]. I can only get text messages, no emails. I think it's just the extended BT option syncing with my address book etc on my mobile [Lumia 930............Windows, yes, Windows OS 8.1]
