Power Stop Koe6073
Just wondering if anyone has tried the POWER STOP KOE6073 Front brake kit on their X1's. Want to get these done before winter!
Thanks https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...308735&jsn=424 |

As no one has responded I thought I'd give my input- I can't speak to running them on the X1, but am running the Powerstop z23 kit on my mk4 VW. For the cost I am quite impressed by the quality and stopping power. I'll definitely look into a Powerstop kit when I need to do brakes on the X1.

Thanks for the update. Have been satisfied with stock pads/rotors and want to replace with the same.

Stock pads and rotors were great for normal use, but way too much fade when I tracked with them.
Replaced them with StopTech slotted rotors and Hawk HPS 5.0 pads. Probably get a little more brake dust and they squeal once in a while (just need to do a few hard stops to get rid of it), but they have much better feel and the track performance is a night & day difference.

Well that's a disappointment, the Z23 kit went in my VW without issue. I guess I'll stick with EBC for the X1 then. Thanks for the update!

Sorry to hear it, OP. Nothing worse than misleading info. I'm still on my original front rotors and pads and ordered zimmerman (coated) blanks this morning w/ Akebono pads. I'm happy w/ the Zimmerman hats I put on my Moupe a few months back. Now to see what loss of initial bite people speak of w/ the Akebono pads (went w/ Cook Carbon on the Moupe).

Yeah, that's the trade. I'm curious to test them out for myself. I love the initial bite of the OE and Cool Carbons, but I'm good w/ less dust and it seems braking overall is still excellent w/ the Akebonos.....otherwise people wouldn't recommend them so much. Braking performance seems to have diminished lately so anything will be better.
