Wondering in case I decide to pull the trigger before the iphone app is available.
It says "sport+" is the default setting on the page linked by Dinan.

If I live in CA and want to get my hands on one, would I need to have it shipped out of state and then shipped to me? I realize it's probably something you can't actually condone but seeing as it's easily removable, I'm not terribly concerned.

The old E chassis software cars we have not gone through all the testing on as of yet hence why it is not listed. Chances are it will work though and once confirmed the new applications will be listed.

Anybody actually use one here yet on X1? Or can Dinan rep verify expected 0-60 improvement?

It's been basically three weeks since the 7/8 date. Have you received yours and do you have any feedback on its performance?

Don't test for 0-60 as there are so many outside factors that can change that number but given the power improvement and having the exact same launch conditions you should see at least a .2 second improvement in 0-60 times.

Been shipping for nearly 3 weeks at this point. Currently undergoing inventory so nothing is shipping for a few days but early next week we will begin shipping again.

There's always a trail if you dig far enough. That said, at the dealership level, it would be nearly impossible to tell.

Thanks, just placed my order on your website. I look forward to it. Being new to BMW world, not new to cars though I am a bit confused as this module seems to go opposite of what you guys always touted about not just playing with one sensor and providing a whole tune solution to avoid longer term issues. Clearly I am not concerned as I bought the thing but I can't quite reconcile the gap from info on the website.

Correct. It does go against the normal Dinan grain and we would love for everyone to go the full tune route with DINANTRONICS Elite as that is a much more polished solution but that isn't for everyone I am afraid. Some simply want cheap power. This is not the typical market that Dinan has historically engaged with but that market has grown larger and larger to the point its hard to ignore. We decided to simply engage with that market segment with a product we feel offers more, even if it is drastically different from our normal products.

Are here any comparisons between the Dinan Sport and competitors such as the JB4 tune? I'd be curious to see how each is different on paper.

But you still feel this product is safe and in line with historic Dinan expectations? I/we should not experience check engine lights etc which have been reported with other tunes. OR maybe a better question, I trust the Dinan name and chose yours but why is it any different than anyone else who plugs into two or one sensor. Actually as I look you might be the only one that plugs just into boost sensor?

Why ask after purchase some might ask? I get sometimes you can sit around on internet asking questions and never get anywhere so I pulled the trigger.

I did a quick eyeballing of Horsepower charts and threw the approximate numbers into Excel and it looks to me like the Dinan Sport runs more or less between the Stage 1 and JB4, but overall closer to the JB4.

I don't know if there is a measurement difference or what, but my Torque comparisons just didn't look right.

^I appreciate your work, but in all honesty those numbers/chart means absolute dick.
Hell even the same car, on the same dyno with relatively same weather is going to have a large variance.

I found more info and dyno stuff on another forum. Seems pretty impressive for the price. I get it is not the same as the full tune.

Only real curiosity, let's say you unplug it for a some period of time, for whatever reason, does the car have to learn to be stock all over or is that pretty quick?

Should be noted that Dinan reports in crank and not wheel as well. Sport and Stage 1 would be similar in gains. The JB4 is a different animal altogether and a very different system. A user comparison was done on the 3 series forum between stock, stage 1, and sport. The post can be found HERE.

What makes the Dinan version different from other 1 or 2 sensor piggybacks? Nothing major, if anything at all, probably programmed a bit differently on where power is coming and going but when you plug into 1 or 2 sensors there's only so much that can really be done. Dinan gives bluetooth in a stage 1 kit which no one else does, gives better packaging (IMO) so it may be more durable in general, and its tied to a trusted name that has been in the industry for 30+ years. That's really about it. Warranty (none) is the same and performance is similar.
