My X1 has finally arrived, pictures included.
When we walked into BMW of Mountain View, it was relatively busy day and there were not a lot of sales associates who seem interested in helping us. Then out of nowhere, Scot Pleski came over and talked to us about what we wanted. He was not pushy at all and really helpful. After a great test drive, we were sold on the X1 as the car we wanted. He spent a lot of time finding what the car we exactly wanted, but we left empty handed for I promised myself I would shop around. Low and behold, we went to Sonnen, Peter Pan, and San Francisco. The sales agents that helped us said they could not get us the car we wanted (that Scot had found, it was allotted to a dealership in Southern California) and overall, they were very pushy, spent very little time with us, and were not willing to meet us half way.
A quick call to Scot, some painless discussions, and two weeks later, we are proud owners of our dream BMW (a car that was definitely not easy to get). A big thanks to Scot, who went above and beyond our expectations and helped us get the car we wanted. If you are in the market for a BMW, I highly recommend contacting Scot at BMW Mountain View. We did not regret it and will never buy a BMW from anyone else! xDrive 28i X line Black sapphire metallic Nevada leather Cold weather package Lighting package Ultimate package paddle shifters satin roof rails chrome exterior trim bmw apps sat radio I paid invoice + 375, thanks guys! I don't know but had a dealer tell me that there would be a charge for trucking a car from another dealer if it was too far to drive it over (and I do not want a car driven in any case). The varying stories and misinformation as part of the car buying process is infuriating, hard to believe some of the things i have been told by dealers over the years

nice car!
too bad i'm in so cal and can't work with scot. not too happy with the salesman i've met so far. question though...i noticed you got the Xline which is the one I want and I was thinking Mineral Gray which is dark like your black. On the dark cars, I wasn't sure if it looks better with or without the aluminum roof rails. Any thoughts now that you have your car? thanks, jane

I ordered mineral grey. Aluminum roof rails only look right with white IMO. I prefer black for everything else.

thanks for the so cal contact info. i'm still trying to check out dealers went to santa monica(weren't willing to budge on the price), just checked out southbay but noure how i feel about them but the free car washes if you buy from them is tempting but not much inventory so i'd have to order, not much inventory. but maybe i'll check out Shelley. Funny with all this waffling i hope i don't change my mind on the X1, hahaa. last week, i started thinking about just getting a 3 series but there's not much inventory of this X1 and i don't know how i feel about ordering, hahaha. thanks for the great insight and tips, appreciate it!

Ryan Amico the manager at Steve Thomas BMW in Camarillo is great, straight shooter and actually knows his stuff. If he doesn't have something you want he can look around and trade. You don't want free dealer car washes anyway, have you seen what they do to the paint :0
