X1 sDrive20d Fuel Consumption

Dear Bimmers,

I would like to know what fuel consumption values are you getting with your X1.

I did numerous fuel consumption tests with my X1 sDrive20d (18'' wheels and RunFlatTyres) which has around 30000km.
Each test is a full tank which represents 800-1000 km driving the same road to work (90% highway and 10% city)

Average:
On average I get between 6L/100km and 6.5L/100km without any problem.

Lowest:
The lowest was 5.25L/100km cruising at 60mph (~100km/h) the whole fuel tank. It was indeed a very boring week for me to do 900km at that speed.

Worse:
The worse was 6.7L/100km in 100% highway driving without speed limits (just limited by traffic).

Let me know how much do you get with yours.

We have the 18d sDrive, seemed to get 44mpg every tank, however since our second service at 25k miles it now seems to get closer to 45/46 mpg.

So gone from 6.3 to around 6.1l/km.

This car doesn't like motorways though, not geared for it, likes 65mph (105kmph) , will see 5L/km at that speed, but jump to 80mph (130kmph) and it drops to 45mpg again (6.3L/km).

My Mercedes 3 litre diesel tuned to 280bhp and a much heavier car only gets 35mpg average, which is 8.1L/k, but sat at 80mph and it will see as good as the little X1.

Hi gIzzE,

Thank you for sharing your results.
I am surprised with your 5L/100KM (56 mpg)at 65mph. Very good.

I hope to see other X1 owners sharing their results.

Hi - I had the X1 sDrive20d for 2500 km, as a loaner from the dealership till my 118d gets ready. It had 800km on the clock when I got it, so fairly new engine..
My driving pattern had been 70% highway (ca. 95-100km/h ~ 59-62mph) 15% motorway (ca. 135km/h ~ 84mph) and 15% city.
I reset the board computer when I received the X1, and my total average according to the computer is 5,7L/100 km - ca. 49,58 MPG (Imp)
Unfortunately I didn't note the total amount of diesel I put into the tank - so I don't have the exact number - only the board computer..

(sorry to say but the converter in the link doesn't take decimals into account - so the formula is:
x L/100km -> 282,6/X MPG)
