Brilliance x1
Has anybody heard much in the past about BMW having a Chinese partner Brilliance making 3 and 5 series for the Chinese market? Looks like they're going to do the Brilliance X1 model next for the Chinese market.

I've read somewhere that Brilliance were BMW-lookalikes, but did terribly at Euro crashtests and failed to meet even the old Euro 4 safety standard.

Without completly crushing the toes of X1 owners, I think it's pretty damn cose to an X1, probably just altered a little from the design point of view to resemble a BMW grille closely with a chinese twist on it to suit their consumer taste. I'd guess the pressing of the panel work is probably the same, no need to reinvent their tooling to make this car.
