Absolutely agree. Jesus H. Why can't we just have an X1sport instead of m-sport? Or an "X1s" ie. 335is. Why does BMW have to bring the M in to this?

Poor M. Handing out quickies for a few bucks nowadays.

To end, I will completely contradict myself and say this design beats the shat out of all current/future BMW designs (for non-M cars of course).

I dunno how exactly you can see that based on that picture your showing, considering we can't even see the dashboard properly.

On a second note to me it clearly looks like it says X-drive2.8i on the side of that M-packed X1 car.

But I don't know, so I guess I'll stop bitchin' now and enjoy the photos again, until we have the real specifications, speculations can move aside!

Don't like the M-Sport

I suppose I am also going to be one of the odd ones out. I have been sitting on the side for a few days now looking at the pics and have finally made up my mind, I don't like the M-Sport package as a whole on the X1.

Here's why:

The X1 is a small cross-over thats good for occasional light off-road work. The M-sport package will negatively affect this due to lower ride height and reduced approach angle.

Its purely cosmetic.

Nope, I like my X1 in the colour scheme I have.

On a proper X1M with a 300bhp engine, different story.

BMW has been building Msport varients for decades.

My granddad had an E28 M535i back in the early 80's, not to be confused with the M5.

Not bad on my 17" rims actually. I have non-RF winters on at the moment and can not really tell the difference to my summer RF's.

Many of the X3's and X5's in US are with M sport package. If any BMW they need M pack.

+1

Americans have hard time separating M sport package with real M cars.

BMW had M packs from the 80's onwards and were still discussing this same issue.

Audi has S line, MB AMG Packs on non S or AMG cars just like BMW has M Sport pack.

Someone pointed that the reflection on the floor does not match the original.... Look at the tailpipes... Dual on the X1, single on its reflection...

I'm innocent.

My wife to whom I was showing the M-package is an artist, she noticed it right away...

Now I'll have another beer....

I somewhat agree with Mario, in general I think a normal x-line X1 looks better, now this blue with x-line would be a stunner!

Called Le Mans Blue and has been used on other models. Restricted to MSport only though. Its a new colour for the X1.

Official word from BMW, the rev limit for the new engine is 7,000 rpm. See full specs here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=477882
