Rear bumper removal

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to X1 but have had numerous other Beemers over the years. I live in the UK (South West).

I've just purchased towhitch (Thule detachable ball type) to fit to my car, any pointers as to how to remove the rear bumper, or places I could buy a workshop manual to assist in performing this task (tried EBay but no joy)?

I can get all the lower fittings undone and can get the rear lamp clusters out easily for improved visibility, but can't see how to separate the joint between rear bumper and actual bodywork at the sides joints, plus are there any fittings at the trunk seal joint, don't want to risk pulling too hard and damaging any delicate tabs etc.
