Should be available now I would have thought? Your dealer should just be able to order one direct from BMW, or I am I missing something?

My Brisbane dealer is selling them with a 4+ week wait at $203inc.
I bought mine online delivered for $114 from the UK. Not really worth it as it doesn't allow me to access the music stored on the iPhone. Or am I doing something wrong?? I'll stick with the Y cable. Wasted $ on it. |

A Sydney dealer told me yesterday that the global company that manufactures the adaptors has "gone bust". I'm not sure if that's just dealer spin to explain why my adaptor hasn't arrived yet, but if it's true it would explain the delays people are reporting on these things.

Just tried on new car. I can stream music from my iphone 3G3 via bluetooth to the speakers without the adapter or the connect music player to mobile option. However, it only works 1 out of 3 attempts. So... I guess it depends on your luck.. I can't explain why.. but that is my experience.

I haven't got an iphone, but if I did I think I'd rely on bluetooth connection for the phone which is standard (in Aus at least) and use a mini USB eg Lexar Echo 16 or 32GB in the USB slot and leave it there permanently. Should act as a hardrive storage for music, accessable via the radiodisplay and steering wheel. It'd be unobtrusive, not obvious to thieves and your phone can just stay in your pocket or bag. I don't suppose you'd get the same visuals if you've got the BMW satnav, but the radio display should be the same as per ipod/iphone.

Yes I have the USB in my X1 and a stick just works great! You can change tracks from the steering, or change (depending on how you've arranged the files on the stick - I've created folders by Artist, then sub-folders with Album names and the tracks within) albums on the radio. Displays track names as well.
In fact I haven't bothered to test my iPod yet. For my phone I ordered the basic 6NN Bluetooth hands-free option i.e. without the cradle. Still stores my phonebook on the radio, and can still make/receive calls with the steering. |

I do not have Bluetooth or USB adaptor in my x1, do you think I can still order the Bluetooth, and the iPhone snapin? To receive and make phone calls? And browse music?
