This is what happens when an A*S wipe blows a stop sign

Just like the title says. I hate looking at these pictures it makes me want to . My awesome car that i have only had since october and its already been in a bad a accident. As i was making a left turn someone decided to not to yield at the yield sign and well that's how this happened. This accident toke place on the 25th of June. Had it towed to the bimmer dealer and i think work started on the 27th. I miss my car so much and it will probably be at least 2 weeks before it might even get finished. Last i check they were waiting on some specific parts from Germany. Anyways i figured i would share some pics. 2 are from me and 1 of them was from the adjuster. The total damages are around 7200. and even though the repair are taking a while at least i know it is getting done right with oem bmw parts! & not that a wish this upon any one but if your x1 has been in an accident feel free to post a pic.

So BMW of Columbia doesn't do body work so who is actually doing the body work?

Really sorry about your accident.

Make sure there is no frame damage reported by BMW or by the insurance co. You can find out by asking if they will have to do any welding of the frame. We were rear-ended in a similar way in our VW Passat 5 years ago while we still lived in the U.S. The car was only 9 months old. The damages totaled $6,500. Given the sustained damages over $5,000 the state couldn't give us a "clean” title anymore after that. Most states make you report damages over a certain amount.

We just got back from the States. Made a trip to sell the Passat as our X1 will be delivered hopefully this week. To our surprise AutoCheck was reporting frame damage confirmed later by Carmax. This never appeared in our work receipt by the VW authorized shop, but somehow they reported it to the insurance. At any rate, we finally sold it to a private party, but we had to sacrifice a big chunk of money in the sale price. In retrospect we wish the insurance co. had just totaled the car in the first place. The accident was never our fault, but we lost left and right.

I've had several BMW's fixed by Summit, an M3, Z3, Z4 and X5 and they did an excellent job on all. My son just had his 4 Runner repaired there as well and they did great work.

Cool that does make me feel a little better. Cause i just want it to look like it was before the accident. Originally gieco had had recommended the dicksmith body shop on Fernandina rd but i insisted on bmw of columbia because i wanted all original parts and no aftermarket parts. Then some one from the dealership is also supervising the repairs so i also know its getting fixed on bmw standards.

Nationwide told my son to take his to Dick Smith and he made two trips and never was able to even get a quote. Summit did raise the price from the adjusters estimate because they found additional damage which got covered but took a while for approval. No longer using Nationwide as they were clueless.
