The Macan will eat X1 for lunch.

Run your X1 along with E90 35 and feel the difference.

This thread reminds me somewhat on how e39 540i owners think the e39 M5 isn't all that different than 540's. I test drove a loaded 28i with leather, wood, moonroof and iDrive (don't remember if it had xenon's) and the power IMHO wasn't enough. Mind you I was coming from a e39 M5 so I needed something that had balls, plain and simple. After driving the 35i I was sold and I picked this over CP0 335i's and a new GT 5.slow

It is quite funny seeing this debate with a guy who can track his X1 vs a guy who has a 28 and generally regrets his purchase...

kind of like Mario Karts...
Anyone can track their car. Go to the track pay the fee sign the disclaimer and they will let you take it out.

I think what he was saying is that Para has some skills, not that he simply goes to the track. Lots of no talent hacks go to the track and give capable cars less than a fair representation.

Macan has no chance, significantly heavier and bigger. X1 is same weight as e90 xdrive and is identical in performance. Bad argument.

Yes, but if you suck you won't be in the intermediate group. Everyone in that group has roughly the same skill level, as signed off via instructor evaluations.

When I was driving SCCA years ago, you didn't progress until you were signed off... Intermediates are for real... not some wannabees whi get into a BMW and think they can drive because they watch 24 hrs, F1 or heaven forbid...NASCAR

Great accomplishment and great video...makes me want to get back on the track...

I am not going to argue with you anymore but this isn't true at all. Anyway why did we get sidetracked to this? This was a discussion of the 28 versus 35 engine for everyday driving. Like I said before if I were going to track the car I would get the 35. If you are driving on the street the 28 has more than enough power. I wish they had a diesel version with a manual in the US as that is what I would buy.

Not sure who you track with, but it's absolutely true and universal among BMW CCA and PCA. Every chapter's website will verify this.
