X1 compatibility with iPhone 4
When my iPhone 4 was connected to my X 1 23d using the official BMW factory fitted kit, the car only picked up some of the phone contact directory, seemingly at random.
Also, from those it did pick up, there were problems when for example there were 3 contacts named Alan. It just shows Alan three times, so you don't know which one it is connecting to. Also, if a person in my phone directory has two numbers, a mobile and a home number, once again it doesn't show any options as to which one to use. It works if I actually use the phone to dial, but that seems a bit self defeating. My last car had a Parrot bluetooth device which worked perfectly. My BMW dealer reckons its an iPhone issue, but my provider ( vodaphone ) says all the numbers are stored in one place on the phone, and it must be a car compatibility problem. Any ideas ? |

I'd go back to the dealer. My iPhone 4 works fine. Mayb double check that it is the right adapter too.

Mine works fine too ... but over Bluetooth!
In the Australian X1's, there are two adaptors available for the bracket in the console - one charges and connects to an external arial, and the other adds music playback, providing the correct option is fitted to allow this. |
