First Check-up - 12,000 Km - What I REALLY need to change?

Hi folks,

I finally drove 12,000 Km so I need to do my first check-up. I live in Brazil and BMW has a bad reputation of very expensive check-ups.

I am afraid they will try to replace every single filter/liquid on the car in order to charge me as much as possible.

A good friend told me that there are some filters/things that not need to be change in the first check. anybody can make a list of which items I will be forced to replace?

I have a X1 sDrive18 gasoline, model 2013.

Many thanks in advance.
Jose

Cabin air filter's probably not a bad idea.

This.

Although I'd do it at 30,000 Km, might as well get it done on one trip.

Oil and filter change, and cabin air filter change. Don't bother changing the other fluids yet, they are meant to last.

Wiper blades are probably getting nasty as well.

Are you doing the service based on a fixed mileage or because the computer has indicated a service is needed?

Bump.

Is a service required at 12,000 KM (~7500 miles) or did your Condition-based Service Monitor determine a service was required at 12000 km??

the invoice said 24 months or 12,000 Km.... I am over 10,000 Km... and the car started to show a message of Km left for revision.
I would like to only change the necessary items... as I said here the offcial service is pretty expensive.. if I can still use some liquids or filters.. I prefer to do so.

Hmmm. Sounds like the 24 months may be what is telling you a service is due versus the 12000 km (I may be wrong but that sounds like a low mileage by BMW standards for the scheduled first service). My Service data is showing I have another year to go (at or about 24 months) before a first service is due.
