Would love to see some pictures.
There is a difference in the pre LCI and LCI right? I got the old X1 (2010), planning on plasti-dip the full headlight, the side markers, the tail lights and the reflectors on the rear bumper. Don't know when a friend can do that all but as soon it is done I will post some pictures. |

The effect is like tinted or smoked windows. Light goos true it.
Cheaper then dark film and when you get in trouble with it, it pulls right off. I don't have much info on it. The guy did it on he's girlfriends car and it is fine to drive a night, it is fine for the cops and the car inspection, it looks good and no problem with (stone) chippings. |

Here's mine with taillight tint from ebay. There are some small bubbles with my DIY but no one is looking that closely. Tried to cover as much as the side orange reflector and leave the top front LED uncovered. |

I didn't cut mine back the way Mish did, instead I went along the line of the LED bar. The light comes through at night to the point you can hardly tell it's tinted.
I don't recommend plasti dipping the whole light.

I installed carbon fiber eyelids too. Make sure you buy 3M tapes from Autozone. Do not use the tapes that come with the eyelids. Those tapes are that come with the lids are usually cheap fakes that will not bound like the real ones. A $7.99 roll of 3M tape is barely enough to attach both sides. Make sure the temperature is above 60 degrees when you do it.

It is the best if you do not drive the car for 24 hours after applying the 3M tapes. It take about 3 days for the tape to fully bound to the headlights. Initial application temp is more important. Keep the highbeams on for an hour helps too if outside temperature is barely warm enough. Press firmly down for a minute. Rolling pressure is okay too.

Carbon fiber black looks great on a White car. Mine is Alpine white too. Other than the M Sport Line, all the white trims have black trims any way, including sport line and Xline. The eyelid makes the way-too-big headlight appear smaller and gives it a more focused look.

Click "Go Advanced" Click the paper clip and follow the pop up window. It's pretty limited in size, so you'll have to make sure your pix are within their allowance.

Honestly, I have no idea what shade they used for the lights. Probably limo because I told them to go dark.

installation is pretty easy, I just added more 3M double sided tape for peace of mind p.s. if you don't want to cover the LED lights on top of headlights, you will need to just adjust or push the eyelid a little up until LED lights are showing I like the look of carbon fiber, pretty sleek and sporty looking |
