Is the boot large enough for a dog?

Sorry if this has already been covered - I did a search but couldn't find an answer.

Is the X1 boot large enough for a medium sized dog without the seats down? Enough space for them to lay down and be comfortable?

Absolutely! In fact, it's big enough for a large breed too (I have a golden retriever).

It's his favorite car to ride in. I typically only put the middle seat down and he tends to face forward, lying down, and lean against the side of the other seats (gives him some stability). But, he can fit in the back with all seats up if necessary, so a smaller dog will fit back there great.

It's nice that the car is lower to the ground than other full size SUV's - makes it easier for him to hop up. Lastly, the window bottoms in the back are higher up than most vehicles, so I don't have to worry too much about him falling out.

Best dog car I've ever owned.

That's great. Cheers for that, mate. Was looking at one on Autotrader and asked the seller if he thinks it's big enough for a dog in the boot before I make the journey to go and see it and he came back to me and said it isn't! He must've thought I had a beast of a dog! It's only a Springer Spaniel so if your retriever fits then it won't be an issue at all. Cheers for the reply.

FWIW We bought the BMW pigpen (aka seat covers) so our dog can ride in the backseats. She could ride in the boot but then one needs to remove the boot cover.
