Wrapped my interior trim :D

So after seeing how the shop do their wrapping and watching some youtube, I decided to try it on my interior trim.

I have a wooden trim and got the VVIVID XPO Brushed Steel vinyl.
So I bought the following for this one:
  • 1 roll of 5'x3' Vinyl but so far have only used 1.5' x 3' - $24.99
  • Heat gun - $27.77
  • Total - $52.76
I original plan to do the door trims only last night but I got some time left and did the center console trim too. I still have the dashboard trim to finish tonight.
But here's the outcome. I'm liking it so much especially the texture of the trim. Just felt the wrap is kind of easy to scratch though. Will try this for a while and maybe look for a self-healing vinyl next time.

Nice. Are the original real or fake wood? My X1 is in Piano Black and I like the dimpled aluminium style. Also that brightens up the interior.

The original is a glossy thing that look like its laminated on a plastic trim.
I actually like that dimpled aluminum style. I saw that from one of the X1's I tested before I got mine.

Looks good. Could you tell me how you got the pieces off. I'm worried about breaking their clips.

I just use plastic prying tools I bought from Amazon and started prying from the end for each of the door trim.

Then just hands for the middle console. Just pull out the shifter boot by grabbing the sides. Also just used hands by pulling the trim upwards.

The hardest part for me is the dash. I was trying to pry from the bottom end but it isn't coming off. From the top end is easier. The AC center vent will come off with the trim.

You also need to pull out a cable each from center console and dash.
