Hope a change of underwear (and perhaps a seat cleaning) were part of the estimate; jeeze, talk about giving you a start....
They were indeed lucky.

The authorities handled our situation well, and eventually compensated us in full.

For several months after this, I was constantly looking upward when driving under overpasses, especially those over I-95 in Chester, Pennsylvania.

There's not any in Calgary! We keep ontop of that stuff. Probably helps that our province is loaded though.

Italy was a huge one back in the early 90's. I remember seeing it daily in the news...sad.

Poor X1!

The Gardiner has the same problem here in Toronto...I'll keep on saying it, Toronto has a pretty sh-tty infrastructure relative to other populated/popular cities.

Crazy hood bulge on that car, what kind of turbo's is she running under there?

Seriously though, one second later and this would have been a real tragedy. Lucky!

In the 90s a korean bridge (over a river) collapsed. Many died. Friends dad was the first car behind the crack. Crazy things do happen.

I would be very nervous driving on that stretch of highway. Thankfully everyone is ok.

No, it is a combination of two bowel actions

As for the incident. Yikes, I have seen several cases of rocks coming down. Never a bridge.

LOL! I don't want to go there; nearest I can cite, a buddy had a blacksnake drop in his lap from the overhead darkness of a hunting camp...
I, personally, only like surprises on Christmas.

Embarrassing because it happened in his home city where most would hope that their taxes are being used to properly maintain the road infrastructure. Not fall down and maim people and damage their property. Further, a skillful lawyer will probably extract far more money from the City than it would cost to fix the problem.
