X1s have a jack? Howcome?
Started digging thru' my bride's new X3 (nice vehicle), and tidied up the cargo compartment in my X1, and it struck me....why do I have a jack? It might well come in handy if I had to plug a tire, but I had forgotten it was back there in its nice factory bag.

I didn't have one either, but need to get one that hides in my cargo area. That way if I get a nail, I can patch it myself and save a tire.

I've got to learn to post pictures!
The jack lives in a nice 18"x6"x3" BMW-marked canvas, zippered canvas case that is stowed vertically in the left corner of the trunk, held in place by an elastic strap. There is enough room inside for an extension lug wrench as well as the jack itself. The jack is a scissor type and seems well made. I haven't actually tried using it, but concur with the notion that it might come in handy in case of a flat; my winter tires are not runflats. I do keep a plug kit and a small compressor. Any of this sound familiar to the group? Moon |

Very familiar.
Do you mind to take a picture of the elastic and how it attaches to the car? I have mine in the same spot and the Velcro straps I use keep coming undone every now and again... |
