The X1 is cheaper by $2,050 in the US, $30,900 vs $32,950.

I expect more content at the same or lower price. The new GLA and "new to the US" Q3 offer more standard features for similar prices. |

Even tho the base price is around the same, but assuming when they are all fully loaded, X1 is a lot more than GLA/Q3. I can't believe BMW didnt make some of the most obvious things 'standard' - like the technology package screen. I would've never thought I need to pay $2500 for a non-touchable screen, with outdated software. |

I configured a GLA last night - for fun. While, yes, it's modern/new compared to the X1, it does get more pricey when you load it up. The equivalent to my 42k (msrp) X1 soared into the mid-40s. So I think Mercedes plays the same game with over-priced options. Nice looking car - also FWD based like the future X1.

Doubtful, it should be released with the rest of the 2017 MY line up if it is a 2017 model.

The new F48 should be out around the 3Q of 2015. Thats why the E84 MY2015 was released in March of this year. A short lived MY for the 2015, means the all new F48 2016 should be ready to order by June of 2015 and deliveries by the 3Q

SERIOUSLY? Do you just mean base (starting/bare) price? I'm kind of shocked the 3-series would be offered for less than the X1.

I don't think 3 serie base pricing is cheaper then X1. (Proof me wrong)
For a fully loaded X1 you got the cheapest 5 however. (Back in the day's anyway, every year they make the gaps bigger.) In Europe we got the 114i and a Mini is a Beemer as well. Edit: Oh Oh http://www.vroom.be/nl/prijs-nieuwe-auto/bmw Last edited by BeemerX1; 10-08-2014 at 06:33 AM.. |

In the Asian market, a fully loaded X1 28i XDrive Xline is priced 20-30% higher than a loaded F30 328i, which is priced at the same level as of a X1 20i. There are a even cheaper version of the X1 18i. Because it really has entered the U.S. market as an outgoing model, I think the price was intentionally dropped to have it fit below the X3. It is "old", but the engine and transmission are up to date. The taillights, especially, uses the newer style LED rather than older E series taillights. It is priced lower than a base 320i, but most 320i I saw leaving the dealership are kinda stripped with options and packages, while most X1s are sold well loaded. I found that dealers are also less willing to drop the price on a X1 compared to a 320i or 328i if you try to negotiate the price down. Perhaps the profit margin on a base X1 is lower, so most dealer ordered X1 are well optioned to bring up the profit margin.
