Aftermarket USB
Hi. New to this forum so apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere. I've just part-ex'd by 120d for a new X1 1.8d sDrive and I LOVE IT
My last car had the USB Interface into which I plugged my iPhone but my new X1 only has the AUX input so can't control it from the steering wheel / radio. It is the only tiny thing that is bugging me. I phoned my local BMW dealer and they've told me there is NO aftermarket install for the BMW Professional radio. Anyone know any different or have any suggestions? Cheers! |

6FL USB audio interface is under development for X1. But even if there is the retrofit kit, it will be very expensive since the TCU unit has to be purchased separately. If you have the bluetooth phone interface already it will be much more cheaper since the TCU is factory installed with the bt option. You can have a look at the Dension Gateway 500. Dension enables both using a USB Stick and iPod.Web page doesn't say anything about X1 compatibility but I think it will work.
http://www.incarmusic.co.uk/product/...-iDrive-System I'm also attaching the current X1 accessories list. Hope it helps. http://rapidshare.com/files/43305224..._prices_x1.pdf |

Thanks for this. I've since been told that there are no accessories from BMW and other aftermarket manufacturers yet because the X1 uses a fibre optic loop??? I'll just have to be patient for now.
