E84 Tweeter Size

Does anyone know what size the opening on the tweeter pod in the front door sails is. I see it takes 1inch tweeters, but I've seen another chap who said that he fitted tweeters with a 44m diameter housing that "snapped right in". I'm guessing 1inch is the driver size, not the actual housing.

If you don't know the actual dimension, have you fitted any aftermarket tweeters (ideally DIY custom, eg Scanspeak, vifa, Dayton Audio, Morel etc, as the likes of Focal, Match etc don't give you the dimensions).

I fitted some B&O ones from an Audi A4 / A5. I had to trim the sail panel with a dremel and glue them in with a hot glue gun but £20 inc delivery from ebay it was worth an hour's time and a pretty decent improvement in sound

For anyone interested, I can now confirm its 44mm diameter.

I didn't measure the depth, but its not a lot. My Vifa XT19 only just fit. they are ring radiators, and have to be mounted on axis, so were fitted at an angle, using foam rubber strips and hot glue.
