Winter Mats...

After waiting for a few months for Weathertech to release digital fit mats for my X1, I grew impatient. Not liking the OEM mats that look like they belong in a jeep wrangler, I started thinking... E90 frame... Maybe e90ish floor pan.
So I looked at an e90 floor and compared mats, they where close enough that I decided to order Weathertech DigiFit mats for an e9x and give them a shot before I ended up in a crappy weather situation and my carpet getting ruined.

The verdict is... They fit... I'd say 98%... Going to the dealer today to get the screw in mat hooks to hold them in place (which they don't need) I just want the holes filled so water doesn't get through.

I only tested the front for now because that was priority so the rears will be next. Anyone looking to protect there carpets this is the way to go before its too late...

I will post pictures after I get the hooks and put them in.

Tried mine the other day too....a little short on the back end, maybe 1/2 inch or so, but otherwise a great fit.

Will do man. Currently working on the X1 specific coils. KW NA said they have no current plans on offering the X1 units yet, but I should be able to get a set on the sly.
I have also considered doing bags with e-level.....but nowhere near 100% sold on that route yet.

From mats to bags

I think bags would not only look fantastic but be good for my personal needs of the X1.....but it's a fair departure into the unknown for me and there are unfortunately few shops around here that have the requisite experience to pull off a good install.

Yes and yes
The OEM E9x floor liners are just rebadged Weathertech floor liners. Depends on your preference of label I guess. As for cost, not sure in the US......I'm sure someone else could better help with that one.

Hi, just ordered the OEM front & rear floor liners from unitedbmwonline.com; they look pretty heavy duty and I like the way they're designed to trap water/dirt/snow etc. for easy disposal. Saw some cheaper options but this looks like the best for an outdoorsy person living in the Northeast.

I ordered the BMW ones over 6 weeks ago because they showed them in stock in the California DC but I cancelled the order after 3 weeks because the dealer did not receive them. Dealer showed 90 pieces in stock but for some reason they were not releasing them. It looks like maybe they were building up inventory or were waiting to receive black ones (I ordered Beige).

http://unitedbmwonline.com has been down all day... not a good sign.

Did you just order from them or have you actually received the mats? I plan on taking my X1 up to the snow quite often and need some good mats.

Worse case I will get an all-weather set from Costco for $15 until I can get order a custom set for my X1 when it comes in.

I also was looking around for winter floor mats to save some bucks. Tried a couple of cheap ones that was supposed to be made for X1, but they were way off.

Finally decided to the OEM and I'm glad I did. They fit perfect and worth the extra bucks IMO.

Also got the OEM ones. Flemington BMW has a hood price online for them.

They fit, and have little nubs on the bottom so they don't move. I just put them on top of the cheap oem carpet floor mats and they stay in place just fine.

Does anyone know how the floorpans differ between the X-Drive and the S-Drive? The OEM floor liners are said to be for X-drives only, and there is no alternative for the S-Drive. I wonder if the X-Drive floor liners could be modified to fit the S-Drive?

I can't imagine they'd be different. Both have the driveshaft tunnel. Unless your s0Drive is FWD?!

Probably lazy database entry on the part of the vendor.

Will they ship in Canada too?
I can see that the product says 2013+
My X1 is a 2012; any difference between them in this matter?
