At port, when will it ship?
My X1 has been sitting at the port in Germany for 7 days now, any idea when it will be put on a vessel and shipped?
Once it leaves Germany how long to New York / New Jersey? Thanks |

It all depends on how many cars are in the line to be loaded onto a ship. Once it leaves the port it takes about two weeks on the water to get to NJ.

You can check the schedules here (of when the next boat leaves & how long it will take for the journey): http://sagaweb.2wglobal.com/AppSchedules/countryList.do

http://sagaweb.2wglobal.com/AppSchedules/tradeRouteSearch.do?routeId=EUNAO&actionType=gener atePDF They also use NYK line ( diff company ) I haven't been able to locate exact schedules for them. Also.. Port Hueneme port website shows ships coming in but only till end of April. If your X1 hasn't left Germany yet don't expect it till May ( takes roughly 26-28 days ) |

There's a ship called Wisteria Ace that left on the 3rd arriving at Hueneme on 5/2. No way to track VIN by that company... |

My dealer gave me a printout showing that my X1 was on the FAUST that left Germany on 4/6. It has been sailing for 4 days now but still does not show on the Global tracking site for the vessel that it is on. I would check with your dealer for accurate information.

With the production number, you can start tracking the vehicle at the BMW web site. Once it starts production, the dealer will get the VIN. This will normally be several weeks after you get a production number. At the time you get the VIN, no more changes can be made to the order, by either you, the dealer or BMW. Also, after hitting production, you can get the last 7 digits of the VIN by looking at the source code for the my bmw page, and searching for VIN_7 Earlier, you could have plugged the VIN_7 into the BMW Vin Decoder web site to get the whole VIN as well as all the order details, but BMW has asked the person who ran the site to take it down, so now I'm afraid you'll have to get the full VIN from your dealer. |
