Hi folks,

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered an X1 this week. I managed to make it into June production, I'm told, for Canadian delivery in late July.

xDrive 28i
Cashmere Silver (black interior)
Navigation
BMW Apps
Lighting
Parking Distance Control
Comfort Access

I can't wait!

My X1 is aboard the Manon, en route from Bremerhaven to Halifax! Today she's in Zeebrugge, departing tomorrow for Southampton. Only a few weeks to go :-)

Hey, you'll be driving it by the end of July. Here's my guesstimate for you.

9 days to Haliax
3 days at Halifax VPC
2 days by train to Montreal
2 days by truck to Ottawa
2 days to dealer and prep

= pickup Friday July 22!!

It should be arriving in Halifax tonight!!

I understand that the stock Goodyear Eagle LS2 tires that we get here with our X1s aren't all that great, so I've just purchased a set of Nokian WRG2 Runflat tyres ( ) for year-round use.

Anybody want to buy a set of brand new Goodyears?

I got mine on June 14th.

Convenience Pack
Lightning Pack
X-line
Nevada Black

You will probably will notice there is not rear armrest in the back there.
This is totally insane!!!!
Please let me know if you are not comfortable with this, and let's bring it forward to BMW Canada for complaint....

ohnoyuji, congrats on the new X1! How do you like the new 4-cylinder engine? Do you mind sharing what deal they gave you if any (you can PM me if you feel more comfortable with that)?

How does the Mineral White look in the sunlight? I have always liked metallic or pearl white paints and feel like it would be cooler in the summer versus my Black Sapphire paint. Thoughts?

we paid in total ~53200$ Canadian. cash deal. (tax+licensing)
We went to the BMW X-drive event, so we got an 500$ coupon taken off our receipt.

They throw in the original rubber mat for us.
And they tint my car all around, 90%front, 50% back.

Also, 1 thing about the kidney grill.. it's not matte silver!!!
I'm going after BMW canada, I'll post the result as it comes in...

The 4 banger, N20 engine is good, except it is quite noisy at cold start.
Also, the 8 speed transmission is good and bad. At some speed, the transmission tries to hunt for the best gear all the time... not very nice..
But I like the new shifter tho~ Same as the new X3 and new 5s.

I want to get some LED for the angel eyes.... but ~200$ looks pretty $ for a pair of lights....

The mineral White is very very nice, if you compare with the alpine white, at sunset, there's a much much difference! The car looks more expensive too...

As I said earlier... the rest of the world is getting the rear armrest... what the heck,.... no armrest, that's not acceptable!!!

I agree. I can't believe they included alot of items as standard but then went so cheap on the rear armrest. Shame on #BMWCanada.

I'm thinking of retrofiting the rear armrest...
Wonder how much the entire thing will cost...

Also, the front seat back net is missing too!!
The rest of the world are also getting them.... could BMW Canada went a bit rush on these X1???

Hey don't complain, I didn't get any Park Distance Control as standard. Heck, I even had to pay extra for the sports steering wheel, as we get the ugly, bigger plain black one as standard.

Also, as you would have seen from my pics, we don't even get Climate Control as standard! It's plain single-zone air conditioning I have!

The rear net, I think only comes standard in Aus.

PDC, sports steering aren't standard either.....
The worst part for BMW canada, is they don't tell you that those item are not included and is not optional....

Sorry if its a dumb question but generally if things are listed as options they are not standard. Was there not an options list for the X1 in Canada?

The model being sold here in the UK is either in SE or MSport trim, each with an enhanced trim level. BMW have also used S/ES/M nomenclature on other models in the past. Not sure what the version is being sold in Canda/SA/HK etc but if things are not listed as standard in the literature and ultimately on the purchase agreement, its not included.

In Canada, there's only 1 model to choose.
The Xdrive 28i with N20 engine.
There are a lot of standard feature on the base 28i. Like the 8 speed auto tranny.
There are very very few optional feature that you can pay for.
Most of the optional feature are part of a package, so you can only have some feature be part of the package. (Where you can pay more....)
