sDrive then? I found it totally light and good on sDrive while xDrive was indeed heavy. My bones were cracking as I was turning the wheel around x)

Yes sDrive, and the steering's great. Can understand why the xDrive would be heavy. When you say heavy, are you pulling both hands for turning in traffic? Is Servotronic very expensive?

Servotronic is around 300 EUR here in Croatia as an option. Well I was driving Volvo C30 until I got to xDrive X1 and when we were parking and moving slowly I did notice a big difference. So perhaps I just didn't expected it. Surely Servotronic should be added with xDrive in any case. I'm using 1 hand on the wheel with slow motions far mostly. It was just a test drive and hence it was a short but true experience.

I agree, Servotronic should be made standard on xDrives, as well as Performance Control.

Seriously it should. But then BMW wouldn't be able to charge 300 for it x)

Be very interested to see the red brown leather. Was contemplating it myself and chickened out and went for black as I couldn't see it anywhere to see if it looked any good or not.

Re the steering, I have an xDrive and I don't have any problems with it. I noticed in a lot of reviews people talked about the heavy steering but seriously - get to the gym. When I got back in my Golf recently, I noticed it was lighter but I also have a 68 Sunbeam Rapier without power steering and THAT has heavy steering but I still manage...and I'm just a girl. OK, I'm a big strong girl, but seriously.

I've got red brown leather. Looks great, not as harsh as normal red (I've had red in my last 2 cars). See link below

I agree, my X1 is heavier than my previous Golf as well but still quite comfortable. Saying that X1's in the UK come standard with electrically assisted steering as I suspect does yours. One thing I have never got to the bottom of is whether its an option in some countries, and if so, how heavy is it then without it.

I can assure you UK spec X1 cars do not come with Servotronic steering, It's not available in this country even as an Option, I cant understand why?

Servotronic power steering in the BMW X1.
The optional Servotronic power steering in the BMW X1 xDrive20d and xDrive23d ensures optimal steering responsiveness in any situation. Servotronic adjusts the amount of steering assistance to suit the current speed, enhancing driver comfort by lowering the effort needed to turn the steering wheel. It provides light-footed responsiveness and agility at higher speeds and effortless agility when parking or in narrow, angular curves.
This is from the BMW web page for other Countrys NOT the UK.

William, not sure what the difference is between Servotronic and Electrically assisted power steering but I can assure you the latter is standard on UK X1s. It's listed under the standard specs on the UK website.
