E84 2014 X1 2.8 sDrive brake upgrade

Is the ECS brake upgrade kit that's a 6 pot BMW Performance basically from a 135i, truly an upgrade for my current OEM brakes? The rotor goes from 312 to 338 and you do get a sexy gold caliper but is it an upgrade? I sometime tow a 3500 lb boat and I would like the assurance that I'm over braked and not under braked. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

I would worry about brake fade more than anything while towing.
Find the largest rotor you can find and some nice semi metallic pads that like heat.

I'm interested in this as well for my 28i. I tow a small trailer and an open wheel race car, about the same total weight.
