If you have not looked at the post yet it may help as I've tried to show in photographs what is involved. I'm assuming that you already have sports suspension. The headlining is a matter of taste but mine is anthracite. That only leaves the steering wheel, alloys, and Msport body kit. The first two are a matter of personal choice, and as far as I'm aware the body kit does not exist other than as separate parts that can be ordered from the parts department of your BMW distributor. I must be a sucker for punishment but here goes, these are the parts required, UK numbers and descriptions so please check them carefully in Canada or elsewhere: B51.11.8.049.933 Cap Covers x 1 B51.11.8.049.932 Cover x 1 B51.11.8.038.016 Lic.pl.supp x 1 B51.11.8.037.994 Grille x 1 B51.11.8.038.061 Grid x 1 B51.11.8.038.062 Grid x 1 B51.77.8.049.939 Trim piece x 1 B51.77.8.049.940 Trim piece x 1 B51.77.8.047.543 Cover x 1 B51.77.8.047.544 Cover x 1 B51.77.8.049.941 Trim piece x 1 B51.77.8.049.942 Cover x 1 B51.47.8.047.745 M trim piece x 1 B51.47.8.047.746 M trim piece x 1 B51.12.8.039.898 Trim panel x 1 B51.12.7.845.543 Trims x 1 B51.12.8.038.993 Cover x 1 B51.11.8.050.636 Panel x 1 B51.95.2.163.230 New ACR x 2 B63.17.6.924.655 Fog lamp x 1 B63.17.6.924.656 Fog lamp x 1 B51.11.7.845.542 Grille x 1 B51.77.171.044 Rivet x 33 It's also important to remember that you should check the above against your car chassis number because those details contain information on original items such as front/rear reversing sensers etc. Not all cars are the same and the front and rear bumpers come pre formed to take the sensers or not as the case may be. Caution - it's also possible to damage the sensers when painting them so be careful as they are expensive! I guess the only other advice I can offer is check and re check the colour of the paint as Space Grey had a lot of different variations! You can also contact BMW Performance for details on ventilated discs etc (see Bora's post re his MSport) to create a truly special car. I've no regrets having had the work done. Good luck and don't forget if you go ahead lets see the photographs of the build |

I'm considering 19" 311 style wheels at present because they will be a lot easier to clean than my current wheels, although the manufacturers don't appear to produce winter tyres for this size so may wait until Spring. The new smaller wing mirrors on the face lift model also look interesting...another retrofit? Last edited by Mulberry; 12-09-2011 at 01:03 AM.. |
