Smile New car coming soon-Introduction

so a few weeks ago I sold my 2000 Toyota MR2 Spyder privately and purchased a 2012 135i convertible(Black Sapphire/Coral Red-M-Sport pkg). I have been really enjoying the car, so I decided to get rid of my 2012 Subaru WRX and get a 2015 X1 28i (Black Sapphire/Coral Red-M-Sport pkg).

So, yes, I am spoiling myself a bit with my summer/winter combo, but the lease was a good deal, and I didn't pay that much out of pocket for the vert.

I am really looking forward to getting the car and getting to know all of it's driving nuances!!

Nice!

We've had 5 WRXs over the years between my wife and I. Another 135/X1 owner here!

Sorta in the same situation. I drive a 2013 135i and just bought a CPO 2013 X1 Sportline Xdrive 28i for my wife. It's a fabulous car to drive. It feels really planted on the road and I absolutely love the engine. It makes me think a 228i w/track package might be a suitable replacement for my 135i... one day.

Car arrived-First Impressions

I picked up the car on Friday 8/14 and was so excited to actually see the car for the first time. My first impression of the looks was that the black sapphire and red interior was just beautiful, it was exactly what I had wanted. I was curious to see if the red interior would be too much in a small SUV package, but it is just right.

I took the X1 to the cape for a few days, and was very pleasantly surprised with the fuel economy. I used Eco Pro mode for the highway driving and the car really felt like a gas sipper. I might be used to my gas guzzling 135i and my WRX though.

We were able to fit 4 small suitcases, a medium sized cooler, two boogie boards, and assorted beach stuff in the back, which was great.

The driving experience was smooth and pleasant. I am not completely thrilled with the NAV, and was a little confused by the traffic updates, but I think it's just a matter of getting familiar.

The USB connectivity is great and voice calls were clear, unlike my WRX which was practically unusable.

So far so good, although there are a few things I would like to figure out:
1. How do I get the screen to display my radio information, such as station, artist and song in full screen mode
2. How do I use the connected drive functionality, such as facebook, text reading, emails etc. I activated the account, have the apps on my phone, but it seems fairly limited in what it will do.

The full screen music display should come up if you hit the radio button on the iDrive controller. I don't know about the connected drive stuff, I'm not entirely sure of it's capabilities since it's the old model and not the new iDrive.

glad I bought when I did

I don't like the redesign. There are a couple things I like on the 2016, but overall not worth it to me
